Guidelines
Please notify a cemetery representative upon a death, burial and/or planned deposit of cremation remains as soon as possible.
A fee will be assessed yearly for maintenance and upkeep. This will be mailed yearly to the contact on file. We also request that each family have a legacy contact that will continue to pay these dues after burial to keep our cemetery funded and in good maintenance and repair. If dues are not paid after three years, the unused plots will revert back to the cemetery and may be re-sold. All plots must be in good standing before burial will be allowed.
Permanent markers (Headstone/footstone) are required to mark each burial and must be installed no later than 1 year after the burial. Stone or other pre-approved materials must be used. Headstones must be placed east facing. Please notify the cemetery officer prior to delivery of the marker to confirm placement and ensure adequate installation. Maintenance of, as well as liability for, burial markers is the responsibility of the plot owners.
Marker size: Single markers cannot exceed 3 ft tall or 3 ft wide. Double markers cannot exceed 6 ft wide or 3 ft tall.
Mementos: The cemetery only allows mementos that can be permanently affixed to the headstone or placed on the actual headstone. This is to keep the cemetery clean and to reduce the liability for damage to other monuments. Eastern Star Cemetery is not responsible for broken, missing, or stolen items.
No items to be placed on or around plots such as benches, statues etc.
No concrete should be poured around any graves besides what is needed to affix headstone.
No glass of any kind should be placed on cemetery property. (Vases, etc) Broken glass is a hazard to visitors and maintenance personnel.
No plantings, trees, bushes may be made on the property.
Eastern Star Cemetery board members reserve the right to remove damaged, faded, or otherwise undesirable items from any area of the cemetery.
Please notify a Cemetery representative of military service history for any persons buried on your owned plots so we can have a record and honor them at the appropriate times.
Please Note: These rules may be modified as necessary at the sole discretion of the board.
